If you are thinking of renovating or you're starting on some renos soon, it can be daunting to say the least.
Making sure that everything runs smoothly is key to a happy life during this disruptive period and ensuring you have the right trades at your property at the right time is key.
START WITH : Demolition
Of course you would think this is obvious but if you are ripping up any flooring or gutting the interior, you always get your demolition done first.
NEXT UP : Construction
If you are doing any structural changes, be sure to get this done next as you want to make sure that any areas which need to be built are in place before you start the next processes.
THEN : Electrical & Plumbing
Get your electrician around and your plumber and have a good chat about your plans and have them out and done before the next trade comes in.
ALMOST FINISHED : Flooring
If you are going to be stripping, polishing or replacing any flooring, this is the next trade you need to schedule. You want your flooring to be done after every other trade (except the painters) have gone through the house with their muddy boots!
If you were carpeting, you would want to do this before you painted to be aware that this step would change in that instance.
LAST : Painters
Get your painters last (with the exception of carpeting). If there are any damages to the walls or ceilings by the previous trade, it won't matter as the new paint job will give your renovation its final touches.
