How do you find a Real Estate Agent?

If I am asked to give advice about finding a real estate agent and I have no financial interest because it's outside the area I can feasibly service - I tell they Seller this:

Always go with a trusted Real Estate Agency.

Preferably choose one of the biggest brands you can find and then talk to an agent with whom you have rapport. Make sure they can explain exactly how they will help you to get the *best price* in the shortest time frame while still ensuring you have had the maximum number of buyers through your Open Homes.

DON'T go with a *cut price agent* because they only have one thing on their mind - fast money - and not your best interests.

If they are willing to negotiate DOWN on their commission - you can *literally* bet your bottom dollar that they are negotiating DOWN on price to ensure you take *an* offer, not the *best* offer. After all, why should they work harder and for longer when they aren't being paid for that extra work?

Lastly, ensure that they have a great marketing campaign which they can explain each amount spent and how it will ultimately get *YOU* the best price in market.

Pay your agent well, and you will get the best service, advice and price.

We are sales people - yes - but we are also service people.

And that service is what will ensure you get the best price in market for your property so make sure you're not losing BIG money by skimping on preparation, marketing and commission.
